Through our Fall 2025 Arts & Culture Grant Program, Coronado Community Foundation (CCF) proudly supported local music, performing arts, arts education, and beloved cultural events throughout Coronado. The CCF Board of Directors unanimously approved seven nonprofit grants, funding a diverse range of programs and initiatives that enrich our community through arts and culture. Among these grants was funding awarded to the Coronado Schools Foundation for the purchase of four new pottery wheels for the Coronado High School ceramics program, expanding creative opportunities for students and supporting hands-on arts education.

Ashley DeGree, CEO of CSF, shares the impact this investment will have on students and the ceramics program.

"The CHS Ceramics Class—made possible through funding from the Coronado Schools Foundation—offers students a unique opportunity to explore their creativity through hands-on learning. The class became one of the most popular visual arts electives on campus! With the growing student demand, the program was in desperate need of additional pottery wheels to meet growing student demand."

Ashley stated, "each wheel allows students to practice fundamental techniques, experiment with form and texture, and experience the joy of creating something tangible from start to finish. With too few wheels, students had to take turns, limiting valuable studio time and slowing their progress, which was why we requested funding to provide additional wheels. CCF's support helped ensure that every student had the tools and time they needed to develop their artistic skills, express themselves, and gain confidence through this immersive art form."

Our team at CCF was thrilled to support CSF in acquiring new pottery wheels for the popular ceramics program at Coronado High School, helping provide students with more opportunities to learn, create, and grow through the arts.
