Community foundations build a culture of philanthropy across generations. Community foundations connect with nonprofit organizations, the business community, city government and donors to learn about local needs and where there are funding gaps. We strive to be the enduring cornerstone organization that helps donors and partners fulfill their collective dreams.
Our role will evolve, balancing a long-term perspective with responsiveness to immediate issues in the community. We serve as a facilitator of meaningful and strategic charitable giving by individuals, families and organizations in Coronado, and a steward of their funds and foundations. We provide financial, technical and management support that builds the sustainability of nonprofit organizations whose missions align with the foundation’s priority grantmaking areas. We serve as a convener and collaborator with thought-leaders and decision makers around civic engagement and the most pressing issues for Coronado and the greater San Diego area.
