We were honored to show our support of the arts through a sponsorship of the recent concert by the Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra (CPO).
On Saturday, September 6th, a captivated crowd gathered for a truly special evening led by Music Director and Founder, Osvaldo Mendoza. The program celebrated the extraordinary talent of CPO’s young concerto competition winners, Zen Parris on violin, and pianists Raymond Fu and Victoria Chen, who delivered stunning interpretations of Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Grieg.
One of the highlights of the night was hearing these pieces performed on a Steinway piano, made possible through our sponsorship. The richness and depth it brought to the music was unforgettable. The evening continued with a powerful performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Concerto that had the audience on the edge of their seats. It was an inspiring reminder of why we believe so strongly in supporting the arts here in Coronado.
Concertgoers had a lot to say:
“It was really amazing, I think it was inspiring for my kids.”
“It was astounding to see the youth, the vitality, and the future that these young people have.”
“This orchestra has heart!”
Since its founding, the Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra has brought more than 25 concerts to our community, many of them free of charge. CPO not only shares incredible music, they embrace collaboration by partnering with local groups like the Coronado School of the Arts (COSA) and the Coronado Dance Academy. Together, they make sure the arts stay vibrant, inspiring, and accessible for everyone in Coronado.
CCF supports Arts & Culture as one of our three main areas of focus. We’re excited to continue expanding our role in uplifting local artists, celebrating creativity, and bringing meaningful performances to our community. Visit ccfcoronado.org to see how you can get involved.
