Donor Advised Funds help facilitate your active involvement in the granting process. Funds are managed and administered by the Coronado Community Foundation.

A Donor Advised Fund is a fund you establish and name at the Coronado Community Foundation. You, or your designee, can specify grants from the fund to your favorite charitable organizations. You can count on the CCF to advise you regarding where your funds might be best put to use to improve Coronado, but all grants are your decision.  Donors advise the Foundation about preferences regarding grant recipients, grant amounts and fund permanence.  The Coronado Community Foundation manages the assets and administers the granting process.  With a minimum gift of $1,800, you can open a Donor Advised Fund and begin recommending grants starting as low as $100.

A Donor Advised Fund allows donors to direct all of their charitable contributions through one personal philanthropic account. Upon giving to the fund, donors receive immediate tax benefits and may support nonprofits of their choice anytime in the future.

Advantages:

  • Use Funds for all charitable giving – in Coronado, in the San Diego Region or nationally.

  • Your Fund at CCF is less expensive to create and operate than a private foundation and offers greater tax benefits.

  • Extend Your Impact: Your fund at the CCF can be invested according to your plans and possibly increase funds tax-free.

  • Knowledgeable Service: We assist with nonprofit research, gift agreements, family philanthropy meetings, site visits, legacy planning and more.

More Benefits:

A donor advised fund can make your charitable giving more efficient and impactful

  • Transfer assets of many kinds into the fund

  • Receive an immediate tax deduction when you establish the fund

  • Give the money to charities of your choice over time

  • Have fewer receipts to itemize at tax time

  • Simply do more good in less time

  • At the Coronado Community Foundation, philanthropy is our area of expertise. We have the knowledge of local and regional nonprofits and community needs that can make your philanthropy more strategic and purposeful.

  • Our fees are competitive with commercial institutions and other community foundations. CCF provides high value for the personalized service, investment stewardship and philanthropic expertise that we offer our donors.
